WATER TREATMENT SERVICE TECHNICIAN III:
Duties:
Installation and commissioning of new process water treatment equipment under the direction of the Service/Project Manager. This includes testing, documentation, start-up, and optimization.
Provide continual feedback to management and the design team on equipment and service effectiveness. This includes optimizing user documentation, making recommendations for product revisions, testing new service delivery methods, and representing the end user’s needs in design discussion.
Maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMIs (Human Machine Interface). This includes routine software upgrades, troubleshooting, reporting bugs, verification of bugfixes and feature improvements.
Support fabrication as required. This includes electro-mechanical assembly, control panel wiring and testing and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).
Desired Skills / Background:
Minimum three (3) years experience in a job requiring regular troubleshooting of process water treatment equipment.
Field assessment of process water treatment systems by any vendor. Must be able to analyze operation and outline deficiencies in process water treatment systems from first principles, including prioritizing repairs or refurbishments, and effectively communicating the risks and benefits of the proposed changes.
Some heavy lifting over 50 kg, must be able to demonstrate the ability to move large cylinders safely.
Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English in a technical environment.
Experience reading and revising technical drawings including P&IDs, Electrical Schematics, and Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical construction drawings.
Strong leadership ability with the skills to lead and be a part of a team.
Mechanical aptitude. Experience with Electrical / Piping / Plumbing / Instrumentation.
Experience with pumps, drives, motors and controls in filtration or membrane process.
Experience with Factory Testing (FAT) including point to point, instrument calibration and verification, PLC configuration and records management.
Experience with a quality management system with requirements exceeding ISO 9001, including strict QC, traceability, and records management.
Troubleshooting and verification of process water treatment equipment including carbon, media filtration, cartridge filtration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, heat and UV sanitization, chlorination, and analysis.
Experience with analytical instruments, including calibration, deployment, and analysis of results.
Detailed and Systematic – Limiting call backs and thorough paperwork.
Experience with installation and service of Water Treatment Equipment.
Perseverance to keep with the task until it’s 100% finished.
Desire to follow company policies and safe work practices.
Organized and systematic with an aptitude for performing detailed tasks. Ability to work unsupervised.
Computer skills: Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word, Google Calendar.
SolidWorks experience an asset.
Conditions of Hire:Minimum Journeyman Instrumentation / Electrician / Plumber (multi-ticket preferred), or four (4) year degree in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering Technology with field experience.
Minimum one (1) years experience with dialysis process water treatment equipment.
Availability for after-hours calls is a condition of hire.
Availability to work weekends is a condition of hire.
Short-term travel (typically up to one week, including weekends in Western Canada) is a condition of hire and will occur on an as needed basis.
Alcohol and drug testing is required on some sites and is required on request by the customer.
Must be bondable, a Police report is required as a condition of hire.
Drivers Abstract is required and confirmation of insurability is a condition of hire.
This position reports to the Service Manager and High Purity Project Manager.
